“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for the constant prayers for the work here in Colombia. We continue with our work of sending the Bible studies to the different prisons in the country. In the previous letter we asked for prayer because sometimes recently the material has been returned and this brought many problems in itself. Thank the Lord our prayers have been answered, and lately no shipment has been returned! We have seen how the students have responded faithfully to the Bible studies, and we continue to send the material. For now I am working from home. Here I have the material to grade and the next lessons for sending, and so I can also keep an eye on my mother Fidelina and my brother Fran. Some days a week we go with Claudia to the office at the chapel to print material or advance things there.

God has strengthened us during this time, and we remember that this month marks the 60th anniversary of when Carlos arrived with his family to bring the good news to our country. The Lord has been very good.

We continue to communicate with Paulina. The work of translating the Scriptures into the Yukpa language continues to progress despite the setbacks. Paulina is currently translating chapter 19 of the Gospel of John. She recently told me that she missed Carlos a lot and remembered his words about this precious book that was his favorite. We appreciate your prayers so that the work among the Yukpa advances and the Gospel reaches their lives. Paulina will make a trip later this month to share the Gospel with her relatives who still do not know the Lord.

Before Carlos’ departure, we invited for a visit some relatives of mine who are Mormons. We had time to talk with them and Carlos spoke the Gospel to them with love and truth. A few days ago my aunt passed away. My family on her side is still deeply rooted in their Mormon beliefs. We appreciate your prayers for the Lord to allow the light of the Gospel to shine into them so they will believe in the Lord.

We have been working to motivate the brothers and sisters in the assemblies and our close family to take advantage of the material we have, and to realize the constant need to study the Scriptures. Several of them are very motivated to study now through the Emmaus courses.

I thank you again for her prayers and also for the offerings you send for the work here.

The peace of the Lord,
